Deafening heartbeats, you look over your shoulder. They’re still there, what do they want? Alone, defenseless, trying to get away. You’re trapped. They’ve chased you far and amazingly you’ve been able to run like this and keep away from them but you know you’ll end up dead soon. Your energy and adrenaline are giving out and you find yourself gradually slowing. You get slow enough to hear their footsteps clumping behind you which spikes your fear and sends one last futile burst racing through your veins. You take a dash forward and hang a hard right in an attempt to perhaps lose them but you skid and slip, thus losing your footing and falling. You fell on your right side and it knocks the wind right out of you. You can feel them getting closer, quick. You manage to regain your footing, using a nearby object as support but it’s too late. You can’t run now, no where to hide. They’d find you anyway. Is this the end?
Just then, there’s a silhouette on the moon. A glimpse of a shadowy figure in front of you. Agonized grunts, a flash of something sharp and your assailants fall to the ground, paralyzed or dead you can’t tell. The figure is still, standing silent in front of you. “…thank you…” you manage to choke out and the figure turns its head slightly to you giving you a glance of its shining eyes, then they dash out of your view and you stand there only to realize you’ve been holding your breath. You slowly regain feeling of your body and you place a hand on your heart to make sure you still have a pulse. Was that real or did they kill you and now you’re having a hallucination because of the pain?
You suddenly feel the need to get home, so you start your walk. You become completely unaware of the things that surround you as your feet guide you home. Finally, after a few moments you find your home and unlock the front door. You push the door open and the warmth of the inside makes your skin tingle. You step inside and shut the door, locking it. Finally, feeling safe within these walls, the adrenaline keeping your body going gives out and you realize how tired you are. You suddenly want to talk to someone, anyone, but it’s almost 3am. You feel slight disappointment as you realize no one will be up now and no one will want to talk to you now but you really need to talk.
Finally, you decide to call your best friend. You pick up your phone and automatically dial the number. Suddenly you hesitate. Will she understand or will she be mad you’re calling her so late… or early? You were just chased by goons and rescued by a moonlight shadow, she’ll understand. You press the talk button and listen. Damn it! You think as you hear her voicemail. You leave a message saying you need to speak with her as soon as possible, and then hang up. Half an hour passes and you call again. Voicemail, you leave another message. An hour passes and you start to get worried. What if they kidnapped her or killed her? You can’t stand the thought so you call a third time and just when you finish your message you friend picks up. “What do you WANT? I’m trying to sleep!” You’re so relieved to hear her voice you don’t even care if she’s angry. You tell her you need to see her right away and she asks why. You beg her to come over and she gives in saying she’ll be over in a few minutes.
She arrives at your house in a long sleeved shirt and jeans. When you open the door she stares at you. “What happened to you?!” She asks suddenly, “You look like you’ve been on a hunting trip that didn’t turn out well…” Without a word you hurry her inside, shut the door and lock every lock that’s on it. She sits on the couch and you sit next to her. You enlighten her to every aspect of your crazy adventure and once your done she’s left gaping at you. She asks if you’re just playing but you deny you are and she seems taken aback. “So what now?” She asks, and you shrug. “Maybe we should call the police?” She says but you shake your heading, knowing that whatever they are, the police won’t be able to do anything about them. Your thoughts drift back to your rescuer, they could help you, couldn’t they?
Okay so this is another little story that has no name and is a completely pathetic excuse for a peice of literature in the slot I want it in. Word saved it was Deafening Heartbeats so that's what I'm calling it. I dunno where it should go from here, any ideas?
Yeah, no picture. Deal.

Iris & Dahlia Hawthorne
“You failed again.” said a sharp voice. A slender figure came into view. She was petite with a porcelain face and deep mahogany eyes that flickered the utmost annoyance, not rage just annoyance; at least, not yet. Her hair was a deep red, almost like fresh blood and she stared down at a smaller girl. This girl had the same figure and face as the first girl but her eyes were a dark blue and she had raven black hair. “I know, Dahlia… I’m sorry… I tried to” “Sorry isn’t good enough, Iris.” Dahlia hissed at her sister.
They were twins, physically identical in everyway but when it came down to personality they were polar opposites. Dahlia was courageous and strong willed. She would do what ever it takes to get what she wanted, even if it was to take out the people in her way. Iris was quiet and timid yet caring and sweet. She didn’t like violence but adored her sister’s go-getter attitude and would do almost anything to please her and gain her sister’s approval.
“I’m loosing my patience with you.” Dahlia said and Iris whimpered. “I just need a little more time, I promise I’ll do what you asked me just give me more time.” “I’ve given you enough time!” Dahlia deliberately cut off her sister. “You’re a complete failure and of no use to me anymore.” Iris then heard her mumble under her breath. “If you want something done right you have to do it yourself.” “Please, Dahlia! Please! Just a little more time! I can be helpful but you need to” “Don’t tell me what I need to do, Iris.” Dahlia spat. “But I know I can help you! Dahlia, please!” Iris met her twin’s eyes and suddenly felt as if they were locked into place. Dahlia’s gaze burned into her and Iris fought the need to shrink away and hide from the scornful eyes.
Finally, after a few moments of silence, Dahlia’s eyes softened a bit. “Very well, Iris. I’ll give you another month. No more, no less, and by the end of that month I want you to have accomplished the goal.” Iris, feeling as if all the energy was just drained from her could only nod. Dahlia then turned and left Iris alone. Iris stared at where her sister had been and went deep into thought. How was she going to appease her sister in just one month?
Okay, okay! This is a short little blip I did a while ago about two characters who I'm practically obbessed with in PW:T&T (Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations. Good game, Good series, PLAY THEM.). Dahlia, is the twin with the red hair and Iris is the twin with the black hair! Simple, no?
The picture isn't mine, someone took the Dahlia pic, recolored her hair, made it into Iris and then posted them on photobucket. So it belongs to whoever did that...
Also, if you click the picture it'll blow up and you can see it better.
That's all for now.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Review
The Last Airbender, commonly called the 'ultimate 3D movie of the summer', but then again what isn't these days? Anything to sell tickets right? Anyway, I am a fan of the animated NickToons series: Avatar: The Last Airbender so of course I watched all four books from the first day the series was released to the very end. The animated show is great, it has a wonderful plot and amazing animation but the movie, unfortunately fails to even compete.
When I first walked into the theatre to see the movie I was so excitied! I couldn't believe they made one of my favorite animated shows into a movie, and 3D at that! So, as you could imagine, when I sat down in my seat I was bubbling. The movie started off like the animated series did: Water, Earth, Fire, Air etc. The effects were great and I enjoyed it until... they pronounced Sokka's name wrong(in fact, in this movie a correctly pronouced name was quite rare). I continued to watch, slightly disappointed in Nickelodeon's over look of this 'seemingly' minor defect.
My disappointment turned into utter shame of even walking in the door was the movie progresses. They skipped parts & characters, added new things and changed character designs willy-nilly. Katara doesn't have her 'hair-loopies' (SOKKA WORD), you can barely see Zuko's scar(if he even has one), Uncle Iroh's beard isn't puffy and gray like it was in the series and Admiral Zhou(?) doesn't have his huge sideburns. Also, Monk Giatso(?) is black(he was an old white man in the animated series for those who don't know) and the Fire Nation is like anicent Rome. They skipped meeting Haru and Suki. The entire Kyoshi Warriors episode was cut but they did manage to put in a small segement about Aang(pronouced as Ong, like 'wrONG') encouraging the Earthbenders to fight back aganist Fire Nation tyranny(however in Haru's episode it was Katara who did the encourage speech, not Aang). They also decided to create a whole new segement about Katara, Sokka(pronouced as So-ka), and Aang go around and free random Earth Kingdom towns(which is exactly what Sokka says NOT to do in the animated series). By this time I just wanted to get up and walk out the door.
So they FINALLY get to the Northern Water Tribe and surprisingly things went okay until I noticed how Master Paku(?) didn't put up a fight when Katara enrolled in his lessons. The Princess(who I think was played by Carlie Casey from Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide)'s name was pronouced correctly for a change but they added an extra scene with Sokka and her on a tower which becomes the new soot scene. So they go to the spiritual place and Zhou and Zuko find them and Zhou kills the koi fish blah blah blah but then I learn something new! Firebenders in movies can't make their own fire like they can in the animated series! Oh my Goodness!
Over all, I viewed it as a low budget youtube parody of the series with good special effects and they had enough special effect programs to do the fight scenes and everything they skipped. I'd love to see how they make up for all of this in the next book if they aren't already overwhelmed by the flaming they probably got and are still getting from enraged Avatar fans all over the globe.
I'm giving this movie 2 1/2 stars because although they skipped most of book one they did fit a good size of it in the film and the plot still held as they weaved their way in and out of sync with the animated series. The special effects were also pretty good but the missing important parts, pronouciation of names incorrectly, new character and set design, skipping of important characters which do appear later on and adding of new scenes is something I cannot forgive, especially if the actual network who produced the series had a hand in this.
My advice? If you haven't seen the animated series, go ahead and see this movie to get a quick bearing on the entire plot but if you have seen the animated series don't waste your money on this. Go see something better.
